Seminar "KNOWING TO PRESERVE LOCAL BIODIVERSITY - Promotion of Oceanic and Coastal Literacy"
On January 20, 2018, the Seminar "KNOWING TO PRESERVE LOCAL BIODIVERSITY - Promotion of Oceanic and Coastal Literacy" took place at the Dr. João Manuel da Costa Delgado School in Lourinhã, promoted by the project "Ambassadors for Biodiversity".
The objective of this seminar was to reflect on the theme of the natural, cultural and historical heritage of the local ecosystems of the Natura 2000 Network, its preservation and conservation, namely the coastal and marine ecosystems of the region.
With this initiative, participants were expected to acquire new knowledge about local biodiversity and to pass on the testimony to other members of the community, thus helping to change behaviour and reduce the environmental impact of their actions on the environment that surrounds them, actively helping to conserve natural resources.
This seminar was addressed to the entire communities belonging to the Municipalities of Lourinhã and Torres Vedras, with a special focus on teachers, educators, secondary and higher education students and volunteers (or future volunteers) of the Biodiversity Ambassadors project.
